David L. Murfin
President
Murfin Drilling Company, Inc.

David is CEO of Murfin, Inc. whose interests include Murfin Drilling Co., Inc., a Kansas Oil and gas production, exploration and drilling company.  Murfin, Inc. also owns extensive real estate holdings, 19 radio stations and Murphy Tractor & Equipment Co., Inc.  Murphy Tractor is one of John Deere's largest North American construction dealers with 28 locations spanning 6 states.  He is also involved with multiple other real estate and business interests.  

David graduated from Kansas University in 1975 with bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and business administration and served as President of Student Union Activities.  

Murfin serves as Chairman of the Kansas Board of Regents, is a member of Kansas University School of Business Board of Advisors and a Trustee for Kansas University Endowment Board.  He was recipient of the University of Kansas School of Business 2012 Distinguished Alumni Award and inducted into the Kansas Business Hall of Fame in 2016. 

He is Past Chairman of the National Stripper Well Association and continues to serve on their Board of Directors.  He is a member of the National Petroleum Council, former president of the Kansas Independent Oil & Gas Association and former Chairman of the National Liaison Committee of Cooperating Oil and Gas Associations.  

David has recently served on several boards, including the Wichita Chamber of Commerce, Kansas Bioscience Authority, Kansas Oil & Gas Resources Fund and Goodwill Industries of Kansas.

Currently David is a member of the Executive Committee of the Kansas Chamber serving as its Past Chairman.  He is Chairman and CEO of Underground Vaults and Storage, an Advisory Director on the Board of INTRUST Bank and was a founding member and served on the board of Directors of American State Bancshares and the Kansas Heart Hospital.
