Christopher M. Hyzy, Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer
U.S. Trust, Bank of America Private Wealth Management

Hyzy

Christopher M. Hyzy is managing director and chief investment officer at U.S. Trust, Bank of America Private Wealth Management. In this role, he develops, manages and oversees the investment process, determines the investment view of the firm, and develops and manages the asset allocation strategy and investment policies of the firm. He also is responsible for the development and execution of investment strategy, including overall portfolio management, specialty asset management, institutional investment, wealth structuring and trading for U.S. Trust®. Previously, he served as the chief investment strategist for U.S. Trust.

Prior to joining U.S. Trust, Hyzy was chief investment officer and head of product strategy for the Latin American market region of The Citigroup Private Bank. He chaired the global investment themes committee, was a voting member of the investment strategy committee for The Citigroup Private Bank and active member of the investment policy committee, the product strategy committee and the senior leadership team.

Earlier in his career, Hyzy had a 13-year tenure at Merrill Lynch. In his last position there he was the director of Merrill Lynch's investment policy group and head of the investment committee for international private clients. He also held investment positions, including director of the global portfolio strategy group for the firm's private wealth advisory group and senior international equity strategist for Merrill Lynch's private client and middle market groups.

Hyzy received his bachelor of arts degree in business from Villanova University and earned an Executive M.B.A. in finance from New York University's Stern School of Business.

John T. Gray, Senior Vice President, Policy and Economics
Association of American Railroads

John Gray

John Gray became senior vice president, policy and economics, for the Association of American Railroads in 2008. His responsibilities include the collection, analysis, and presentation of economic data related to railroads and their economic environment, as well as development of policy positions on current significant rail issues.

Prior to joining the AAR, he worked for Union Pacific where he was responsible for the commercial relationship with other transportation carriers and ports and for strategic policy analysis on issues involving regulatory proposals, legislation, and potential litigation. He also held the positions of vice president of business development and vice president and general manager of industrial products.

Before working at Union Pacific, he was vice president of network development at Southern Pacific Railroad. He also has worked in commercial and strategic positions at Burlington Northern Railroad, ARCO-Alaska and The Alaska Railroad, as well as holding a faculty position at the University of Alaska. Prior to that, he held a commission in the U.S. Army and served in Germany for four years.

He earned bachelor's and master's degrees in civil engineering from Tulane University and did post-graduate work in mathematical modeling of transportation networks and rail cost analysis at Northwestern University. He is a member of the executive committee of the transportation research board of the National Academy of Sciences and is a member of the board of trustees of the John W. Barringer III National Railroad Library.

He and his wife, Joan, both raised in Alaska, now reside in Bethesda, Md.

James E. Sherow, Professor of History
Kansas State University

Raised in Maize, James Sherow is a fourth generation Kansan. After four years in the U.S. Air Force, he pursued bachelor of arts degrees in secondary education and history from Wichita State University. In 1978, he received his master of arts degree in history from WSU and then taught social studies at Turner High School in Kansas City. Sherow earned his doctorate in history at the University of Colorado in 1987. He taught history at Southwest Texas State University from 1988 until 1992, when he accepted the Kansas history position at Kansas State University.

Sherow is the author of three books and more than 20 journal articles and book chapters. His primary academic interests are environmental history, Kansas history, the American West and the history of North American Indian peoples.

He currently serves as the mayor of Manhattan, Kan.

Steven J. Feilmeier, Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer

Steve Feilmeier is an executive vice president and the chief financial officer of Koch Industries Inc., as well as a member of the Koch Industries board of directors. As chief financial officer, Feilmeier oversees Koch Industries' global financial network and serves on the company's business development board. In addition, he works closely with other business leaders to capture potential opportunities that best fit Koch Industries' capabilities and vision.

Feilmeier also serves on the boards of these Koch Industries subsidiaries: INVISTA, B.V.; Koch Chemical Technology Group, LLC; Georgia-Pacific Equity Holdings, LLC; and Koch Asset Management, LLC, which is responsible for various Koch company's pension investments.

Feilmeier began his career with Koch companies in 1997 as controller for Koch Chemical Group. He later served as vice president of tax, accounting and finance for Koch Industries and was responsible for controller operations, tax, treasury, cash management and mergers and acquisitions. He was also vice president and controller for KoSa B.V., a Koch Industries subsidiary that was combined with INVISTA in 2004.

Before joining Koch Industries, he held a variety of positions at PepsiCo and was manager of taxation at KPMG Peat Marwick.

Feilmeier earned bachelor's and master's degrees in accounting from Wichita State University and is a certified public accountant.

Based in Wichita, Kan., Koch Industries Inc. owns a diverse group of companies in refining and chemicals, process and pollution control equipment and technologies, minerals, fertilizers, polymers and fibers, commodity trading and services, forest and consumer products, and ranching. Koch companies have a presence in nearly 60 countries and employ about 70,000 people. Jeremy Hill, Director
Center for Economic Development and Business Research, W. Frank Barton School of Business, Wichita State University

Jeremy Hill became director of the Center for Economic Development and Business Research in May 2009. In his role, he leads the CEDBR's objective economic research and analysis for private businesses, nonprofits and government organizations in Wichita, the state and the surrounding region.

He earned his master of public administration degree and a bachelor of business administration degree in economics from Georgia Southern University.

He has nine years of experience working with two applied research centers at Georgia Southern University: the Bureau of Business Research and Economic Development and Coastal Rivers Water Planning and Policy Center. Hill successfully developed key relationships for the centers during his tenure there. He has continued those efforts at WSU, networking and partnering with the business and economic development communities served by the CEDBR and the W. Frank Barton School of Business.

His research focus has been on business analysis, community development, education, workforce, tourism, housing and retirement dynamics. This variety of research has required economic impact modeling, cost-benefit analysis, forecasting, data analysis, and survey development and design.

He has been involved in a number of national and regional organizations, such as the Association of University Business and Economic Research, the National Association of Home Builders, and the University Economic Development Association.

Frank Dudgeon, All Thinkgs Considered Host/News Producer

Dudgeon

Frank Dudgeon has worked in radio for more than 40 years, beginning in commercial radio. He began his public radio career in 1989 at WUMB in Boston. He worked at KMUW several years ago, went back to Boston for a few years, came to his senses, and returned to KMUW in July 2003. After almost seven years of hosting Morning Edition, Dudgeon now hosts All Things Considered and conducts news interviews. He finds the mix of local hosting and researching and conducting interviews an ideal job. In his leisure time, Dudgeon enjoys reading, watching Boston Red Sox games and collecting historical items dealing with magic and magicians.

Donald L. Beggs, President
Wichita State University

Don-Beggs

Donald Beggs earned his bachelor's and master's degrees from Southern Illinois University and his doctorate in educational measurement and statistics, in 1966, from the University of Iowa.

Prior to accepting the presidency at Wichita State University in 1999, Beggs served as a faculty member and in numerous administrative positions during his 32-year tenure at Southern Illinois University, retiring as chancellor of SIU in 1998.

Beggs is the senior author of a nationally standardized test and the author of several books and academic articles.

He is active in the community, serving on the board of directors of multiple organizations.

Don and Shirley Beggs have two children and four grandchildren.

Doug Hensler, Dean
W. Frank Barton School of Business, Wichita State University

Doug-Hensler

Doug Hensler joined Wichita State University in June 2008 as dean of the W. Frank Barton School of Business.

Prior to that, he served as dean and Sid Craig Endowed Dean's Chair in the Craig School of Business at California State University, Fresno. Before that appointment, Hensler served for eight years at the University of Colorado at Boulder as the W. Edwards Deming Professor of Management, a joint appointment to the College of Engineering and Applied Science and the Leeds School of Business.

Prior to returning to the academic community, Hensler served in several management capacities in the nuclear and aerospace industries. In 1998, he co-founded the Multinational Alliance for the Advancement of Organizational Excellence. He serves on several editorial boards of international journals. He holds a bachelor's degree in aerospace and mechanical sciences, a master's degree in business administration and a doctor of philosophy degree in finance. In addition, Hensler is a registered professional engineer in quality engineering.
