Nathan has over 25 years experience in the mining industry.  He received a BS in Mining Engineering with an economics minor from the University of Missouri-Rolla (now MS&T) in 2000.  He later earned his master’s in business administration from Washington University in St. Louis through their Executive MBA program in 2017.  Through roles of increasing responsibility in his career, he has led change and turned around several different mines across the country in various raw materials sectors, including metals, cement, and industrial minerals.  Nathan has been General Manager of Lyons Salt Company for 15 years having led tremendous growth and doubling of production capacity.  Lyons Salt’s parent company purchased Morton Salt in 2021 and Nathan enjoys being involved in the larger company with 8 underground salt mines and 14 evaporative and solar salt plants in North America.  Nathan serves as Moderator at First Baptist Church in Lyons, is involved in several other volunteer organizations, and sits on various boards in the area including the Rice County Entrepreneurial Community Board (Network Kansas).
