The WSU Current Conditions Index has been on an upward trend since January, gaining 4.2 percent over the six months ending in July. Two of the six Index indicators showed improvement from June to July. Home sales increased 3.2 percent, and the number of outbound airline passengers at Wichita’s Mid-Continent Airport increased 2.4 percent. Employment remained stable, while the hotel occupancy rate decreased 10.5 percentage points, and the volume of airfreight shipments at Wichita’s Mid-Continent Airport decreased 6.2 percent. All indicators are seasonally adjusted.
