The WSU Current Conditions Index declined 2.5 percent from third to fourth quarter 2010 and declined 1 percent from fourth quarter 2009. From fourth quarter 2009 to fourth quarter 2010, seasonally adjusted home sales decreased 22.5 percent, while the seasonally adjusted volume of airfreight shipments at Wichita’s Mid-Continent Airport declined 2 percent. The seasonally adjusted employment level in Wichita has become more stable, declining 0.3 percent from fourth quarter 2009 to fourth quarter 2010, but only 0.1 percent from third to fourth quarter 2010.
