Have you ever wondered what the average wage for your occupation is in the Wichita MSA? Or how many accountants there are in the area?  The Center for Economic Development and Business Research has created an easy-to-use lookup tool for wages and employment by occupation for 400 metropolitan statistical areas. The tool is in an Excel format (must have Excel 2007 or later) and includes the number of employees, employment per 1,000 jobs (employment concentration), the average hourly wage and the average annual wage by Standard Occupational Code.

The Center has also created a look-up tool for wages and employment by industry code for the Wichita MSA. It includes the number of establishments, the number of employees, and the average annual wage by North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code. Data for the tool comes from the Bureau of Labor Statistic's Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages (QCEW) program.

The most recent tool created provides establishment, wage, employment and location quotient data by major industry code for all counties in Kansas. Data for this tool also comes from the Bureau of Labor Statistic's Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages (QCEW) program.
