Deron has over 18 years of commercial banking and commercial lending experience in the Hays market. Prior to signing on with Commerce Bank in August of 2000, he worked for 11 years as a bank examiner for the Office of the State Bank Commissioner in Kansas.
Deron received his BS in Business Administration from the University of Kansas in 1988, obtaining an emphasis in Finance. He is an active community member and has served as President for the United Way of Ellis County, the Optimist Club of Hays, and the Hays Area Chamber of Commerce. Deron maintains close ties with the Hays Area Chamber of Commerce, the Wild West Festival and is a director of the Ellis County Coalition for Economic Development and Heart of America Development boards.
