Charlie Chandler

After earning a degree in business administration from Kansas State University in 1975 and an MBA in finance from Northwestern University in 1976, Charlie entered the management training program at First National Bank in Wichita, now INTRUST Bank. In 1996, he was elected chairman of the board, president and CEO of INTRUST Bank — becoming the fourth generation of Chandlers to lead the bank. In January 2009, he was elected chairman of the board, president and CEO of INTRUST Financial Corporation. Charlie is also a director of Fidelity State Bank & Trust Company in Topeka, a director of First Bank of Newton, and chairman of the board of directors of Westar Energy.

Charlie serves as co-chair of the Leadership Council, created in 2012 by the Wichita Metro Chamber of Commerce. It is a think tank comprised of 100 top business, nonprofit and public-sector CEOs for the purpose of discussing and pursuing resolutions of major issues or projects to make the Wichita area competitive for job creation, talent attraction, capital investment and long-term economic prosperity. Additional community involvement includes KSU Endowment Foundation, KSU College of Business Administration Advisory Council, Wesley Medical Center, The Navigators, Kansas chapter of Senior Presidents Organization, Wichita Downtown Rotary Club, Kansas Society for Children With Challenges and Eastminster Presbyterian Church. Charlie and his wife, Marla, have been married for 38 years and have four children. His hobbies include flying, boating and snow skiing.
